New safety helmets for the volunteer fire brigade

On Friday, 13 December 2024, Mayor Götz Herrmann handed over the first new safety helmets to the members of the volunteer fire brigade.

The safety of the emergency services is the top priority for the city of Eberswalde: the first hundred helmets have been issued to the Finow and Eberswalde volunteer fire brigades. With this measure, the city has successfully completed the comprehensive renewal of protective clothing for the emergency services.

In recent months, the replacement of protective clothing has included the renewal of jackets, trousers and now also helmets. This investment is essential in order to optimally protect the emergency services during their operations. The total cost of replacing all the helmets is around 60,000 euros.

"With the new protective equipment, we are ensuring that the firefighters are optimally equipped for their missions and that the equipment is up to date. The comrades of the volunteer fire brigade are an important pillar of danger and fire defence in our community," explains Mayor Götz Herrmann.

The city of Eberswalde would like to thank all members of the volunteer fire brigade for their tireless commitment.
