The neighbourhood management of the Brandenburgisches Viertel has taken up the desire for a new meeting place and the needs of the people. Ideas have been collected together with the project participants since February 2024. A pavilion, seating, raised beds and much more are being realised for the park in the neighbourhood. Under professional guidance, the participants can contribute their skills on the construction site and help turn Barnim Park into a thriving meeting place for the community. On Volunteer Day (4 May), the edges of the square will be painted together and the opening of the construction site will be celebrated.

The "Growing Together!" project is part of the BIWAQ initiative of the Federal Ministry of Housing, Urban Development and Building. At the kick-off event on 26 April 2024 in Berlin-Neukölln, Federal Minister Klara Geywitz presented the project participants with the symbolic funding certificate. The project, which is funded by the Federal Ministry and the European Union via the European Social Fund (ESF Plus) as part of the BIWAQ programme, supports people from the neighbourhood in (re)entering the labour market and in their professional orientation.
