Election results for the 2019 election of the City Council of Eberswalde
On Sunday, 26 May 2019, 32,888 Eberswalde residents were called to cast their votes in the European elections and 34,238 in the local elections. More than 4,000 of these eligible voters had previously applied for a ballot paper to take part in the election by postal vote. Voter turnout for the municipal council elections in Eberswalde was 45%, eleven percentage points higher than in the last local elections in 2014 (34%).
The city of Eberswalde was divided into 37 electoral districts for the 2019 European and local elections. On average, there were 926 eligible voters per electoral district, with electoral district 33 Spechthausen being the smallest with 188 eligible voters and electoral district 2 in Westend being the largest with 1,209 eligible voters. On election Sunday, 318 people volunteered as poll workers. The constituent meeting of the new municipal council will take place on Thursday, 20 June 2019, at 6 pm in the hall of the Paul-Wunderlich-Haus.
